By the Greek Deputy Labour Minister, George Koutroumanis, upon the discovery that pensions were still being paid to 321 people who officially above the age of 100 and alive but were in fact dead, some over a decade. He described the situation as a"Third World phenomenon" that could not be allowed to continue "in a country that wants to be called a European country". Well, Greece is a Third World country, so what did he expect?
